Boys Junior Varsity Golf, Boys Varsity Golf · Hopkins Varsity Golf Places Second

On Friday, the Hopkins Varsity Golf team played in a non-conference mash-up against Calvin and Kelloggsville. The team had an overall score of 214, which led them to a second place ranking. They came in behind Calvin, who had a score of 177. Kelloggsville’s team fell behind with a score of 239. One of the top scorers for the Hopkins team was junior Clayton Billings. A few things that helped him to lead the team were his good drives off of the tee and his long, par-saving putts. Billings ended with a score of 43. According to Coach Spoelhof, “We had some really key shots out there today, but we still need to work on our short game.”
